By using our Services, you represent that you have attained the age of maturity in your state or residence.

You are responsible for any and all information provided to us through the use of our Services as provided in our Terms and Conditions. By providing your information to us, you expressly agree to our collection, transfer, storage, disclosure and use of your information as described in this Privacy Policy. This includes any information you provide that is deemed sensitive under applicable law.

PERSONAL INFORMATION

Bills.ng is an in-house mobile application used by Agents for processing bill payments for various utility services such as electricity, airtime, and cable TV.

We collect certain personal information which you voluntarily provide to us when you use our Services. This may include your name, email address, phone number, address, account/meter number, user name, password, and any other information that identifies you which you choose to provide (collectively, “Personal Information”).

We may also ask you to create login information for your account and we may ask for your consent to receive text messages relating to our Services at the mobile number you provide.

The information you provide should be relevant to the purpose for which it is to be used, and should be accurate, complete, and up-to-date.

We use your personal information for the following purposes:

INFORMATION FROM THIRD PARTIES

Additional personal information may be gotten from third party applications and other identification/verification services.

INFORMATION AUTOMATICALLY COLLECTED

When you access or use our Services, we may automatically collect information about your use of our services which may include Personal Information and statistical information that does not identify you. Such information may include:

  • Log Information: We may log information about your use of our Services, including the type of browser you use, access times, pages viewed, your IP address and the page you visited before navigating to our Services, device event information such as crashes, system activity, and hardware settings.
  • Device Information: We may collect information about the computer or mobile device you use to access our Services, including unique device identifiers, hardware model, operating system and version, and mobile network information including your mobile phone number. We may associate your device identifiers or mobile phone number with your Bills.ng account.
  • Location Information:We may collect your location information from your mobile device with your prior consent.
  • Cookies: We use cookies to identify you as a user and to personalize and improve our Services for you. Cookie are small data files stored on your computer or mobile device. It enables us to remember your account log-in information, IP addresses, web traffic, number of times you visit, date and time of visits, and it helps us improve our Services and your experience, see which areas and features of our Services are popular and count visits. Some browsers may automatically accept cookies while some can be modified to decline cookies or alert you when a website wants to place a cookie on your computer. By accessing or using our Services, you consent to the placement of cookies on your devices. We do not alter the information our applications attempt to collect based on your Do Not Track configuration.

    Once you begin to use our services, we keep all records of your transactions and we will not share or disclose your personal information with a third party without your consent.

    We will protect your personal information by using global security safeguards against loss or theft, as well as against any unauthorized access, risk of loss, disclosure, copying, misuse or modification.

    Other security measures include but not limited to, firewall, data encryption and granting access only to employees in order to fulfil their job responsibilities.

    We are committed to conducting our business in accordance with these principles in order to ensure that the confidentiality of personal information is protected and maintained.

    We may disclose any information we collect about current and former customers, including personal information, to affiliates and non-affiliated third parties as follows:

  • With finance and utility service providers.
  • With non-financial companies, such as email service providers that perform marketing services on our behalf, and fraud prevention service providers that use the information to provide services to Bills.ng.
  • With unaffiliated third parties: (1) if you request or authorize it; (2) if the information is provided to help complete a transaction for you; (3) if the information is provided to: (a) comply with applicable laws, rules, regulations, governmental and quasi-governmental requests, court orders, or subpoenas; (b) enforce our Terms and Conditions or other agreements; or (c) protect our rights, property, or safety or the rights, property, or safety of our users or others (e.g., to a consumer reporting agency for fraud protection, etc.); (4) if the disclosure is done as part of a purchase, transfer, or sale of services or assets (e.g., in the event that substantially all of our assets are acquired by another party, your Personal Information may be one of the transferred assets); (5) if the information is provided to our third-party service providers to perform functions on our behalf (e.g., analyzing data, providing marketing assistance, providing customer service, processing orders, etc.); (6) for our everyday business purposes; or (7) as permitted by applicable law or otherwise described in this Privacy Policy. When you are no longer our customer, we continue to share your information as described in this Privacy Policy.
  • We may disclose analytics with third parties for our commercial purposes.

  • We may also share aggregated or de-identified information, which cannot reasonably be used to identify you. For example, we may share transaction zip codes with third parties to improve our accuracy in geo-locating transactions and to improve the clarity of transaction descriptions.

    We take reasonable measures to help protect all information about you from loss, theft, misuse and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration and destruction. We limit access to your non-public personal information to employees that have a business reason to know such information, and we implement security practices and procedures designed to protect the confidentiality and security of such information and prohibit unlawful disclosure of such information in accordance with our policies.

    All information transmitted via our Services are protected by encryption technology.

    No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. Therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security of your Personal Information. You also play a role in protecting your Personal Information. Please safeguard your username and password and do not share them with others. If we receive instructions using your account login information, we will consider that you have authorized the instructions. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your user account or any other breach of security. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to refuse to provide our Services, terminate user accounts, and to remove or edit content.

    DATA STORAGE

    We will only retain personal information on our servers for as long as an account is active. Once an account has been deactivated, your information is stored on our servers for as long as necessarily obligated by law.

    LINKS TO THIRD-PARTY WEBSITES

    When you use our Services, you may be directed to other websites that are beyond our control. We may also allow third-party websites or applications to link to our Services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of any third parties or the content of linked websites, but we do encourage you to read the applicable privacy policies and terms and conditions of such parties and websites. This Privacy Policy only applies to our Services.

    ADVERTISEMENT

    Ads appearing on our Services may be delivered to users by advertising partners, who may set cookies. These cookies allow the ad server to recognize your computer or device each time they send you an online advertisement to compile information about you or others who use your computer or device. This information allows ad networks to, among other things, deliver targeted advertisements that they believe will be of most interest to you. This Privacy Policy covers the use of cookies by Bills.ng and does not cover the use of cookies by any advertisers.

When we revise this Privacy Policy, we will post the revised version via our Services and will update the date at the top of this Privacy Policy.
